GLOSSARY
The Health Literacy Glossary provides an overview of translations used to translate 'health literacy' from English into other languages. Interestingly, the translations differ slightly in their interpretation of the exact meaning of health literacy. However, most of them focus on health literacy as a skill, a competency or a capacity to act on information and knowledge. Importantly, health literacy represents the ability to act, hence translations representing health information, health knowledge or health education, would not be regarded a valid translation.
